Dr. Werner was born in Cincinnati Ohio.  Her first pediatric experience unfolded as the eldest daughter of twelve children.  After living in Pennsylvania for her educational years she served as a physician in the Air Force (acting as the base allergist for three years) before coming to Culpeper to practice and joining the medical staff of CRH in 1991.  She has been honored as a “Top Doctor in Northern VA” in 2011 and as CRH “Physician of the Year” in 2008. 

Dr. Werner dedicates time to the hospital Quality Assurance Committee serving as Chairman for five years.  She is the physician coordinator for the CRH Nursery, as well as serving on the hospital Pediatric Steering Committee.  Since 1992, she has been the medical consultant for the Culpeper Public Schools Health Advisory Committee.  She taught art in the elementary schools for five years.  

She calls home a hundred year old house in Culpeper that she has remodeled with her father’s help.  There she has raised her four children, a Labradoodle named Sophie and numerous flower & herb beds.  She enjoys reading, singing in the church choir, walking, spinning at Powell Wellness and cooking (a skill her children attribute to her early years as a McDonalds employee).

Her practice promotes a holistic approach to health focusing on environmental, physical, and mental wellness, as well as safety and nutrition.  Understanding the multifaceted nature of patients and their families is important to her.
