Dr. Stubbe was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. From 1963 until his graduation in 1966 he was a boarding student at The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey after which he attended Penn in Philadelphia. In 1970 he returned to PR to complete his medical studies and training at the University of PR where he chaired the Family Medicine Department for 12 years before moving to Culpeper and joining Wilderness Medical Center in 1993. Dr. Stubbe has participated in numerous local and national organizations including being Member-at-large of The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, Program Director of The PR Community Foundation, and Delegate of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He currently lives in Culpeper with his wife Maria, a teacher at Woodberry Forrest School, and two daughters, Cristina and Gaby. He particularly enjoys a good weekend round of golf and dancing with Maria.
