Charles A. Stein, MD, FAAP
Pediatric Care of Culpeper
 

Dr. Stein was born in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He did his undergraduate education at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biology.  He studied medicine and graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine.  He completed a three-year residency in Pediatrics at East Carolina University School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina.  Following his residency, he returned to Virginia and has been in the practice of Pediatrics in Culpeper since 1983.

He is Board-Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.  He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the Virginia Pediatric Society.  He has been on the medical staff of Culpeper Regional Hospital since 1983.  He has served two years as President of its Medical Staff and been Chair of the Department of Medicine.  He is currently serving as Chair of the Credentials Committee and the Bylaws Committee of CRH.  He has served on the Board of Culpeper Medical Associates since its formation.  He has been a member of the Madison County School Health Advisory Committee since 1992.  Dr. Stein continues to be an active physician on the medical staff of Culpeper Regional Hospital.  He was honored as its Physician of the Year in 2007.  For many years, he was an instructor for both the Neonatal (Newborn) Resuscitation Program and for Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

His many professional special interests include general pediatrics, behavioral pediatrics & ADHD, asthma & allergy, and international adoption.  Outside of medical practice, his life is full with his wife, two daughters, and three dogs.  He has been an assistant coach with Culpeper Soccer Association for several seasons.  He also enjoys spending time at home, skiing, hiking, and being with friends.
